WE MAKE THE WEATHER TRILOGY presents our world under climate change conditions – showing both problems and perspectives.
In CLIMATE COUNTDOWN we seem to be on a walk that poetically approaches the rising temperatures. Besides a traffic junction a person is desperately looking for rest as the heat is so unbearable. In a most irrational way the person is discussing aspects of the climate change debate. Thus, the whole scenery assumes an unreal, dreamlike character where there seems to be no way out.
REMINDER 2023 can be seen as an introduction to a world under crisis conditions. It is a world that at the same time has re-established the spirit of life.
The film is set during a heavy rainfall at a location where the street is covered by a building. There is a lot of traffic. As we follow the point of view of some nervous eyes audio fragments about sports cars are floating by. When the topic changes our attention is drawn to the pouring rain itself. Now we’re listening to a political talk. Finally our eyes turn around: We take a look at the outside where pedestrians and bicyclists are not protected from the rain. What we see is simple urban life at a crossing.
Part III of the trilogy, TRAFFIC WALTZ, focuses on the never-ending discussions about finding the best way to solve the environmental problems of mankind. The answer of this film is simple: We should open up our eyes to the world and its beauty.
So, in TRAFFIC WALTZ we finally start to dance to a Chopin waltz though intellectually there has been found no solution to our problems.
